Born in Athens, Greece, Nikki grew up moving from place to place across her native land. This life in motion - shaping both her outlook and her art - continued when she spent more than a decade in England before eventually settling in California.

Nikki’s work navigates the space between abstraction and realism, layering textures and forms as a reflection of the cultural landscapes she has lived within and the harmonies she observes in nature. Now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she works across oil, cold wax, charcoal, acrylics, collage, and photography, creating pieces that explore a quiet balance between perception and reality.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Creating art is a compelling need that quiets my mind and allows me to embrace the ephemeral. I work both intuitively and realistically - depending on mood, time, and place - and I rarely consider my artworks finished. I find open-ended inspiration in both motion and stillness, in my experiences as a two-time immigrant, and in the restorative powers of music, poetry, and nature. For me, art is an ongoing conversation between seemingly unrelated elements, a fluid reorganization of reality that gives form to states of mind.
